How to Participate
|
|
If you are a module developer, you can use the DNN Update service to allow your users to easily keep their modules up to date. Just follow these steps:
- Create a DNN Update site account. Click the Register link at the top of the page and enter your details.
- Log into the DNN Update site using your account. Review the developer terms and conditions at http://www.dnnupdate.com/terms-developer.content.
- In the "Content Developers" menu, click the Register as a developer link. Fill in the form to apply for a developer account. When your application is approved you will be sent an email notification.
- Once your application is accepted, you will have access to the "Manage products" menu. Use the management functions on the DNN Update web site to create products and versions and upload your module private assemblies.
- Optionally, add code to your modules to add a "Check for Updates" action menu item. The Code samples page contains samples for both DotNetNuke 2.1.2 and DotNetNuke 3.0.
- Optionally, use the logo from http://www.dnnupdate.com/logo.content on your website, support page and/or help pages within your module to link your users to the DNNUpdate site.
- For security and commercial reasons, standard "content developers" do not have access to the subscriptions feature or to the skin/container product type in the product editor.
If you develop commercial DNN components and want access to our subscriptions feature, or if you are a skin or container developer, you must request access to the desired feature by emailing support@dnnupdate.com with a description of your requirement.
